A LITTLE MORE

Ponteland is a village lying about eight miles north of Newcastle Upon Tyne at the gateway to the beautiful county of Northumberland renouned for its castles, ancient history and turbulent past.
Amongst the many local organisations is a thriving Local History Society which holds regular meetings in St. Mary's Church Hall. The Society have published a number of books on the history of Ponteland.
Due to the close proximity of the village to greater Tyneside the area has become a popular residential area with the adjacent Darras Hall (Garden) Estate having been developed over the last 50 years.
